Clothes: how much are they really worth? Every day we choose what to wear, but we rarely think about what lies behind a garment. Fast fashion pushes us to buy more and more, and more and more quickly. We always want to be fashionable. The result? Clothes that are cheap to buy but come at a high price for the environment and for people: mountains of discarded clothes, pollution, labour exploitation and enormous consumption of natural resources. What if, instead of throwing away a pair of ripped jeans or a slightly worn-out sweatshirt, we learned to repair them, personalise them and transform them into something unique? Recycling and reusing is not only an ecological gesture, but also a way to express creativity and personal style. In this pratical workshop, you will reflect on the true value of fashion and get your hands dirty right away: sewing, mending, altering. You will discover how to give new life to your clothes with the help of Raffaella Bacciarini and five young seamstresses from the Biasca School of Tailoring. Thanks to Giulia Curti from the Department of Territory's Environmental Education Office, you will also gain a better understanding of the concept of sustainable fashion and learn to value your clothes! When: Friday, 21 November 2025 Where: Hotel La Tureta - Sala Nobile, Giubiasco Duration: 3.5 hours (1:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m.). Target audience: 13-18 years old (approximately) Equipment: You can bring the following items to repair: shirts, jeans, jumpers, T-shirts. Other items of clothing will be available on site.
